KASEY BUCHTIEN

FOUNDER, THE SPACE STUDIO

RYT 200

NASM CPT

Growing up in Bellville, Texas, Kasey participated in several sports throughout her childhood before playing collegiate volleyball at Samford University. Movement and exercise always played a big role for Kasey, and in 2011, she found her passion in teaching others the gifts of health and wellness as an instructor at DEFINE body & mind in Houston, Texas. Throughout the 5 years with DEFINE Kasey became a Senior level instructor and taught over 2000 Barre, Vinyasa Flow and Spin Classes. Kasey then spent over 2 years as a Barre, Spin and Yoga instructor on Maui, Hawaii, where she continued teaching and furthering her education in health and wellness by completing her Certified Personal Trainer Certification through The National Academy of Sports Medicine in January 2018. While she loved the adventure and beauty of the island, her love of family and community brought her back to Texas. Kasey had the honor and opportunity of opening The Space Studio just a few short months after moving back to Texas in the summer of 2018. Her vision and mission for The Space Studio is to provide a place for clients to find and create The Space for more of what they need!! The connections Kasey makes with her clients and the ability to witness the physical and mental transformation of those clients is what Kasey enjoys most about teaching.

MELISSA TELLO

CO-FOUNDER, BEYOGA

E-RYT 200

Athletics have always been a part of Mel’s life as long as she can remember. Beginning with skiing, cheerleading and gymnastics, she eventually discovered her true passion, teaching movement based classes. She explored various forms of fitness classes and then she stumbled briefly upon her first Yin Yoga class in NY, that would eventually open doors to a lifestyle she embraced. Even though she turned to yoga in early 2010 to deal with flexibility issues from years of high impact movement coupled with a 70 hour work week at a desk in corporate America, she soon discovered the far-reaching benefits yoga had to offer. Yoga for Mel started with a asana based desire and it was the spiritual and calming experience that fired up the desire in her heart to practice regularly and then eventually pursue yoga training so that she could share the beauty of all aspects of yoga with others.

Mel has taught well over 2000 movement based classes since early 2013, led trainings and intensives to certify others for a variety of movement based certifications, including yoga. She became a 200 hour certified Yoga Instructor in 2016 and is a registered instructor through Yoga Alliance. She thoroughly enjoys teaching what she is so passionate about because it is extremely gratifying to watch students blossom, and this solidifies her belief their lives will be enriched spiritually, physically, and mentally!

MARGARET YEWENS

FOUNDER, BON VIVANT BOARDS

Maggie Yewens, a native Houstonian, began her passion for food cooking in her grandmother’s kitchen.

Throughout her life, Maggie, has submerged herself in the food industry. One of her first jobs was working the counter at an ice cream parlor. Then working various restaurant jobs in the Houston area.

She put her love of food on hold for several years receiving a degree in communications from William Peace University, Raleigh, NC and a law degree from South Texas College of Law, Houston, TX.

A healthy lifestyle is important to Maggie. She is an avid golfer, playing Division II golf in college. Currently, she’s active in two ladies tennis leagues and teaches spin at The Space Studio, Bellville, Texas.

During her free time she’s always shopping at a new food market, creating recipes, or participating in the Austin or Houston restaurant scene.

This last year she decided to turn her passion for food into a catering company. Bon Vivant Boards specializes in charcuterie, crudités and other elaborate food boards.

SOUFIANE SATTVA

BODY MIND & SOUL HOUSTON

CERTIFIED CRYSTAL HEALER

SECOND DEGREE REIKI PRACTITIONER

SOUND THERAPIST

Soufiane Sattva is a Certified Crystal Healer, Second Degree Reiki practitioner and Sound Therapist who shares his gift through energetic channels at metaphysical stores like Body Mind and Soul. Soufiane is known for using a unique combination of crystal body layouts, Reiki and sound therapy to balance and align non-physical energy vortexes along the spinal column known as Chakras.

After experiencing a series of shortcomings and losses in his life, Soufiane learned that every waking moment of our existence must be an occurrence filled with mindfulness. Whether driving to work, dropping the kids of at school, or having dinner with friends and family, our conscious presence or lack thereof can directly affect the outcomes of our lives.

The vibrational healing of crystals is used to prompt the healing process of life circumstances that impact your life, provide a practice to improve the health of your “invisible self”, and create a consciousness of balance and alignment when you are feeling out of whack.

Soufiane collaborates daily with those interested in the power of crystals, life force energy and sound therapy. He spends his time researching metaphysical subjects, practicing vibrational healing, sound therapy and designing new methods, which contributes to your well-being, and activates within you your own ability to heal.

Soufiane is also a regular practitioner at Body Mind and Soul and believes each day is a chance to start anew, reset and rebalance your vital energies.
